Charlie Dos Santos has been working as an Engineer/Producer for over twenty-five years. He has worked on various Grammy nominated recordings including DLG (Dark Latin Groove), Barbarito Torres of Buena Vista Social Club fame, and two Los Van Van albums. In 2000 he recorded, mixed and produced the Grammy winning album Permiso Que Llego Van Van, by Los Van Van.

He has worked in various genres of music, everything from Rock, R&B, Latin, Hip-Hop, and Jazz to World music. Spending some years as a staff engineer at the now legendary Greene Street Recording he got to work with some of Hip Hop's greatest artists like Public Enemy, the Bomb Squad, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Heavy D, Doug E. Fresh, and Brand Nubians, to name a few.

Other artists that he has worked with include Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, They Might Be Giants, Digital Underground, Eddy Grant, Peter Noone and Phil Ramone, Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Portuondo of Buena Vista Social Club.

With a profound understanding of Analog and Digital recording techniques, he has been bringing the best of both mediums to his projects. Working with Protools since it’s inception as Soundtools, Charlie was the main engineer/editor in one of the first Soundtools exclusive rooms in New York.

As a freelancer he has worked in most of the major studios in NYC including Electric Lady Land, Right Track, Hit Factory, Quad, Avatar, Sony, and Chung King. His ability to smoothly incorporate the best of both the analog and digital domain into the same project comes from years of practice.

Charlie was also the VP of A&R for Caliente Records/Atlantic Records. He has also done consultation work, studio design and installations.
